Empowering the Next Generation: Brian Castle Serves in UNC Asheville Mentoring Program

Brian Castle, CEO and Founder of Parklife, participated in the 2024 alumni mentoring program at his alma mater, UNC Asheville. His commitment to nurturing the next generation speaks volume about his dedication to the field and his belief in paying it forward. 

What sets this mentorship program at UNCA apart is its emphasis on community-building for both mentor and mentee. This mentorship program takes an immersive approach. With a structured program consisting of six meetings matching alumni with students and forming cohorts that attend meetings together as a big group, UNC Asheville is building a supportive community where everyone can learn and grow together. 

Mentorship stands as a cornerstone of personal and professional growth. As mentees navigate their career options, mentors can equip them with tools and knowledge necessary to overcome challenges, seize opportunities and ultimately achieve their aspirations. 

For Brian Castle, mentorship is not just about imparting knowledge; it’s about instilling confidence, fostering creativity, and nurturing talent. He and his team at Parklife have created an environment that nurtures young creatives and offers opportunities to college students. In 2024, Parklife is proud to renew its commitment to student internships through Southern Methodist University’s Life After Ball program for student athletes.

I think it’s fantastic that the university is now leveraging an alumni network that spans dozens of industries, with leaders who are showing the value of a liberal arts education in their own careers and through impactful leadership in their respective organizations.”
